Forward to the nineteenth-century!

In this article, designed as a puff for the Progressive Governance Summit, David Milliband writes that state socialism and conservatism are dead. In order to reconfigure progressive politics in the twenty-first century, Dave tells us that we need to combine two fresh, exciting ideologies from the, er…nineteenth century, Social Democracy and Classical Liberalism. Heady, heady stuff.

  2. Wow – we’ve moved on from nostalgia for the 1860s (Blair praying Gladstone in aid) to nostalgia for the 1890s… it must be progress!
